VFD cable is engineered to handle high voltage spikes, electrical noise, charging currents, and heat when used between variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motors. NFPA 79 (2018) Section 4.4.2.8 recommends XLPE insulation for VFD applications due to its low capacitance and thermoset performance, helping reduce reflected wave damage and improve system reliability.
